What Hinduism thinks about Women

Gender discrimination is one of the most common and important issues in our society. There are so many feminist movements going on these days for women's empowerment and safety.
But the question is why did we need all these movements in the first place. Did our society always been a male-dominated society? No, it was not. My religion thought me men and women both are equal they are two sides of a coin. In some cases, women are superior to men.

What Hinduism thinks about women and gender discrimination.

Adi Shankaracharya wrote some beautiful lines

Shivah Shaktya yukto yadi bhavati Shaktah prabhavitum
Na chedevam devo na khalu kushalah spanditumapi |
Atah tvam aradhyam Hari-Hara-Virinchadibhir api
Pranantum stotum vaa katham akrita-punyah prabhavati ||
– Soundarya Lahari 1

The most powerful God, one of the trinity Lord Siva when united with Shakti capable of creating the universe.  Without Shakti, even Lord Siva cannot stir.
You are worthy of being adored even by Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma.
Therefore, O Goddess! without acquiring great merits, how can a person be able to salute you?

In the above para, you saw a glimpse of Hindu dharma where there is no gender discrimination. Even the almighty god needs a goddess to be complete. We worship both of them.
In most of the villages of India, you will find a Devi temple. Even in our Mythology and history,
a girl had all the right to choose her husband which is why we had swayamvars organized.

Draupadi Swayamvar

We even heard about Love and Loyalty, power and wisdom, bravery and victory, charisma and compassion in our mythology.
Back then women didn't need the right to give an opinion, they already had the power to take decisions.

Men and Women both are equally important and we should respect them that what our culture teaches us.

Now is the high time for women ho rise, to take a stand. Now there are so many provisions in our law for women. To be honest there are no such provisions for men. Don't make it a tool to harass the other gender by putting fake charges.
See there are two ways to be equal either you raise your standard or you lower the others.
Feminist prefers the first approach whereas pseudo-feminist prefers the second one.
feminist and pseudo feminist
feminist and pseudo-feminist

Love, respect, and equality were always there in our culture, then why in this era we don't give respect to girls? The reason is for so many years India is ruled by many different rulers and they forcefully impose their beliefs in our minds, after that, we influenced by western culture and now we are influenced by so-called 'Social media Influencers' who spread sugar-coated hate and negativity in the name of joke or freedom of speech and we laugh on these shitty jokes just to look broad-minded, funny or cool and we defend ourselves and that person by saying it is a joke. We cant see the level of manipulation and brainwashing going here.

I am not saying my religion is better than yours. Every religion is based on the idea of spirituality and development. This is pure and we should respect it.

A religion that is free from any racism and discrimination. A religion which teaches some beautiful lesson of life. and we are making fun of that religion in the name of a joke.

The controversy

Now there is a huge discussion about the controversy and what I think is if a criminal kills another criminal that doesn't make any of them a hero. The question is not who is right or wrong the question is what is right and wrong.

Yah I know cracking jokes on a certain religion cannot be accepted but giving someone a threat is not acceptable either.
If you don't like something speaks, you have the right to speak but abusing someone and giving threats is not what Hinduism is.
We think we are protecting our religion by violating the fundamental principles.
Why we think everything as black and white. If you don't like something that doesn't mean you should hate that thing. If you can't respect leave, don't disrespect that person either.

Similarly, if you don't like a religion it's your personal choice but doesn't pass jokes and comments. You are hurting the sentiments of millions of devotees and believers. Just because you are an entertainer you have no right to do that.

If somebody gives me a personal comment it can hurt my sentiment then how can I think passing a joke on certain religions should not hurt anyone.

When you are in a platform where you communicate with millions of people you should choose your words carefully. You never know how your perception or statement about something can misdirect someone.
I know how important freedom is for an artist, but artistic freedom shouldn't be at the cost of the religious belief of millions of people.

We should love music no matter it's from  Loudspeakers or Ghanta
We should love light no matter it's from Candle or Diya
We should love food no matter it's from Langar or Bhandara.

Respect religions, religion is not a person.

A House That Never Was

My name is Alok, and I was working as a freelance writer.  A few days ago I got a mail to write an article about Heerapur jungle. The locals say this is one of the mysterious and haunted places of India. I took that project because they were paying me $10,000 for a single article. The place was nearly 200 km from my house, so I took my laptop, some necessary gear and drove to that place in my car. I decided to stay in that jungle because I wanted to complete the work as soon as possible.  It was around 10 pm when I reached Heerapur jungle and looking for a place to stay. Finally, I got a house in the middle of the jungle. The house was dusty and old, but I hadn't any other option, so I went to that house. I rang the bell, and an old man responded, " Who is there?" I told him that I wanted to stay there for two-three days so I could complete my work. But he didn't want any stranger to live in their house. Somehow, I managed to convince him, and he allowed me to stay

Baat karne se hi baat banti he.

Jab tu saath tha teri keemat jana nahi humne. Ab jab tu sath nahi, tujhe anmol bana diya humne.             Aaj stories pe unki aakhen bhi num he, jo kavi tujhse aakhen churate the. Tweeter pe bade bade batain likhte hen, jo kavi tujhse baaten bhi nahi kiya karte the. Jab tu bolta raha humne tujhko ignore kar diya Ab jab tu khamosh he , humne teri khamoshi bhi padhna start kar diya.   Galti humari thi, jo humne tujhe samjha nahi . Kavi akele baith ke teri baatain suna nahi Jab puchna tha hume , humne tujhse pucha nahi Tu thik he ki nahi ye kavi jaanna chaha nahi. Shayad teri muskurahat ke nakab ko humne tera chehra samajh liya . Shayad teri fikar karne ko  humne koi boring sa kaam samajh liya . Chupane se chizen kavi thik nahi hoti he, Aur rone se tumhari izzat kavi kam nahi hoti he. Mat socho ese, ki tumhe koi judge karega. Tumhare galat ko sahi aur sahi ko galat bolega. Apne feelings ko bayan karne se hi duniya sunti he. Ki baat karne se hi baat banti he.
